In many towns and villages in Longtan District, 8 straw wood pellet plants have been built to use straw to produce molding fuels. The price of straw fuel is 10% lower than that of coal with the same calorific value.

Relevant departments of Jilin City stated that during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, they will also invest 870 million yuan to focus on the construction of 17 key projects including biomass briquette, straw biomass central heating transformation, and biomass power generation, and strive to complete the project. Later, it replaces 410,000 tons of standard coal every year.
