In many towns and villages in Longtan District, 8 straw wood pellet plants have been built to use straw to produce molding fuels. The price of straw fuel is 10% lower than that of coal with the same calorific value.
During the combustion process, the calorific value can reach 3,800 to 4,200 kcal, and during the combustion process, there is no emission of sulfur dioxide and some waste. After burning, its waste is very good potash fertilizer.

So far, Jilin City has 10 straw briquettes processing enterprises, 45 production lines, and an annual processing capacity of 300,000 tons. Relevant departments of Jilin City stated that during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, they will also invest 870 million yuan to focus on the construction of 17 key projects including biomass briquette, straw biomass central heating transformation, and biomass power generation, and strive to complete the project. Later, it replaces 410,000 tons of standard coal every year.
